Last night Dave K rashna, S tu ­ d e n t Body P residen t, m ade charges o f “b la tan t d iscrim ina­ tio n ” in th e scholarship denial case o f senior Jim W erner. W erner was rec ip ien t o f a scholarship funded by Mr. Carl K och. Last spring, he w ro te a le tte r to his d o n o r inform ing him o f his progress a t N otre D am e. In his rem arks he in ­ cluded a list o f his activities, am ong w hich was th e S tuden ts A gainst Racism . A pprox im ate ly th ree w eeks la ter, th e le tte r was re tu rned to him by K och, w ith th e com m ent “ N uts! Y ou are p robab ly a b u m !” concerning his partic ip a ­ tion in the SA R. He also rem ark ­ ed th a t , “ Y ou are a radical o r you w ould p u t y o u r zip code on. If I w ere y o u , 1 w ould no t accep t any m ore m oney from th e K och fu n d .” W hen co n tac ted last n igh t, Mr. K och ad m itted th a t he had w ritten th e com m ents .
